Parents
As a parent of two young boys, I can imagine you may be thinking “What is a summer project?” and, “What will my son be doing if he goes on one?”
Those are great questions, but first, allow me tell you about Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC). CCC is an interdenominational Christian mission organization that has been providing opportunities for college students to develop Godly character for over 50 years. Over the years, CCC has developed an impeccable reputation for representing Jesus Christ with character and integrity and has been consistently listed as one of the top charities of which to donate in Money Magazine.
I’d also like to tell you a little bit about myself and the associate director:
I have been a staff member with Campus Crusade for ten years. I am a graduate of the Ohio State University. I am a Chaplain for the Oxford Police Department in Oxford, Ohio. I am married and have two sons under five. Carl Schweisthal, the associate project director, is also a graduate of Ohio State and a staff member for six years. Prior to his employment with CCC, Carl served seven years in the U.S. Navy and is a Persian Gulf war veteran. Carl is married with a daughter and infant son. Both of our families, as well as five other staff members and their families will be attending the project this summer.
If your son attends the Northwoods Summer project this summer, he will experience an intensive five and a half weeks of Bible study, spiritual growth, community service and sharing his faith in Jesus Christ in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. He will live on the campus of Nipissing University in student housing with other students from around the country. He will also receive physical and outdoor skills training and embark upon three outfitting trips into Canada’s northern wilderness. It will be a tremendous opportunity for stretching his faith, learning new skills, making lasting friendships, and most importantly, telling Canadians how they can know Jesus Christ in a personal way.
As parents, you can rest assured that your son will be in good hands this summer. We guarantee that he will return home a changed man, in character and conscience.
Sincerely,
Scott : Project Director
Carl : Associate Project Director
